Orchid Mantis (H. coronatus)

PanTerra Pets

$45.99

The Orchid mantis (Hymenopus coronatus) is one of the most sought-after mantises in the hobby. They are also fairly rare, as they can be a challenging species to breed for a variety of reasons. They are in such high demand that when there is a hatch of orchids, they are not around for long!

Orchids are predominantly white with typically pink accents, but can range in color from shades of red, pink, white or yellow, or even purple. The juveniles have stunning camouflage that helps them to blend in with flowers, particularly their namesake orchid flower, which allows them to remain undetected by predators and prey alike.

Native to the rainforests of Malaysia, they like humid conditions and temperatures slightly above room temperature (around 80°F).

Nymphs currently for sale are L2/ L3 nymphs, and are currently eating fruit flies. Be sure to have the proper prey items on hand when your mantis arrives.
